Music Ensembles In The Peak of COVID
Below are videos demonstrating necessary initiatives in an effort to maintain a performance-based curriculum, as we were all thrust into a new world of teaching music amidst a global pandemic.
Here's what I wrote in my first email to the community as I presented our first virtual ensemble last spring:
"I am so proud of these students, and so happy that we are maintaining the true meaning of being together, even if only virtually. This is a unique opportunity to emphasize the importance of individual contribution & accountability to the whole ensemble & team, in addition to the innate need to be connected with others. Our ensembles are working hard, adapting to Distance Learning, embracing new and exciting ways to collaborate, opening our minds to different musical genres and instruments, and continuing our journey together...Enjoy"
